My colleagues Angela Duffy, Managing Director EU, Emilie Braund, Director and I attended the EphMRA Basel One Day Meeting on 19th September 2024.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for our team to meet industry leaders and explore the latest trends and innovations in healthcare market research. The focus of the day was “Equity and Diversity” and what this means for research and insights. The papers, including ‘The Inevitability of Bias; The Challenge to Achieving Diversity’ and ‘Closing the Gap in Health Equity; An Asthma Case study’ provided a chance to reflect and challenge our thinking on what it means to ensure we truly represent diverse patient experience in our research, and take into account our own biases as well as those of HCPs in our interpretation. In doing so, our insights and recommendations will hopefully become more patient-centric and will help work towards addressing disparities in health equity.
On a similar topic, my colleague over the water, Tom Donnelly, also recently presented a very interesting paper on health equity at the Intellus Fall Institute in the US. You can read more about his paper here.
